Today our Transition Years took part in a Self Defence workshop for the duration of the school day. Close Encounters Self Defence covered a number of areas of interest to the students: Understanding body language before conflict Protecting your personal space Pre-emptive strikes Release from chokes & strangles The Fence (protecting your personal space) Defence against knife hold ups Knowing when and how to strike Self Defence and the Law in Ireland An enjoyable and worthwhile experience that received a very good response from students as the instructors were enthusiastic and informative.
