Ormond Castle TY Tour
Our TY students had the privilege of exploring Ormond Castle, a remarkable historical treasure right here in Carrick-on-Suir. Originally built before 1315 and later acquired by the powerful Butler family, the castle has seen centuries of transformation. In the 1560s, Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormond, added a stunning Tudor-style manor house — the first of its kind in Ireland — inspired by his time at the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Today in 1st year business studies, room 13, we did things a little differently. 5 students were selected to become business teachers for the class. This is the second week our international students got involved with our school return bottle scheme. This is a new concept for our international students and they are enjoying promoting the return scheme around the school. Today we travelled to the local shop to make the deposit. All money raised is for the schools green school committee and charity.
