Junior Cycle
At our school, students follow the Junior Cycle programme set out by the Department of Education, which spans three years and supports young people in becoming confident, curious, and capable learners. The Junior Cycle aims to provide a broad and balanced education, developing not only knowledge but also important life skills such as communication, critical thinking, and creativity. A key element of the programme is the focus on student wellbeing, guided by six wellbeing indicators: Active, Responsible, Connected, Resilient, Respected, and Aware. These help create a school environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued. Learning is assessed through a mix of classroom-based assessments and final examinations, and each student receives a Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA), recognising their progress and achievements across subjects, key skills, and other learning experiences.
