U15 Football County Champions

Dr Morris Park Thurles 19th March 2024

Group Game 1:

ERSS Carrick-on-Suir (2-4) Comeragh College (1-1)

We met our close neighbours in the first game of this year’s blitz. It took some time for us to settle into the game and gel as a team. At times we left ourselves open to attack and defensively we had areas to work on if we wished to progress in the competition. Two goals from Harry Farrell helped us get off to a good start and get one win under our belt.

Group Game 2:

ERSS Carrick-on-Suir (2-8) Cashel C.S (1-2)

Our second game saw us click as a team, positional changes helped shut down efforts from a strong Cashel side as well as created a platform on which to lunch attacks. Goals on this occasion coming from Jay O’Gorman and Evan Moran who came on to have a big impact on the game.

Final:

ERSS Carrick-on-Suir (2-3) Rockwell College (0-5)

While our final got off to a great start with a well taken point from Evan Moran, we struggled to retain possession. Rockwell moved well throughout the field and led (0-1) to (0-5) at halftime. Thankfully we were more efficient in front of the posts in the latter half. Scores coming from Jay O’Gorman, Freddie Murphy and Conor O’Meara proved to be vital as we clawed back into the game when bodies were getting tired. Ferdia Geoghegan was at the heart of every move throughout the three games and helped control things from centre-back. A big congratulations to all involved in the panel this year for their efforts. They must also be commended on how they conducted themselves throughout the year as representatives of ERSS both on and off the field. We looking forward to seeing these players perform again in the coming years.
