The final day of DCMUN saw delegates tackling some hugely important global issues from blockades and humanitarian aid, to online safety and anonymity, religious freedom, and SDG 6: clean water and water treatment. 🤖 2nd Year Science in action! This morning, our students used LEGO robotics kits to design, build and test their own unique creations. From robots built for speed ⚡ to ones that mimic animals like a caterpillar 🐛 — the imagination on show was incredible! They planned, problem-solved, rebuilt and improved their designs just like real engineers. A strong opening to DCMUN today as delegates listened to opening speeches from our distinguished guests, including Cork Lord Mayor Councillor Fergal Dennehy, Mr Pat McKelvy, Director of Schools with Cork ETB, and Ms Jennifer Cooney of WorldWise Global Schools. Well done to our U14 team who advanced to the last 16 of the Munster Cup with a great win against a strong Scoil Ruain Killenaule team today. Our goals came from Zach Norris (2), Dale Redmond (2), Ryan Walsh(2), Jack Norris and Joaquin Garcia. Well done to all.

Our first years are getting to grips with figurative language and having lots of fun with it! They’ve been began with exploring similes, metaphors, and personification, then showing their understanding through drawings and examples of their own. So much creativity and brilliant shown in this sample of their posters.

As part of a climate and resilience module looking at rainfall and flooding TY students competed to create their own flood defences using a limited amount of materials. The team whose defense held out the longest against the flood won. Congratulations to Dylan's team just beating Alex's team by 5 seconds.
