Junior Cycle - Classroom Based Assessments (CBAs)
Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs) form an important part of the Junior Cycle. They give students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning through practical, engaging and meaningful tasks completed during class time. Each subject includes two CBAs, designed to highlight key skills such as research, problem-solving, creativity, communication and teamwork.
CBAs are assessed by teachers using nationally agreed Features of Quality, and students receive a descriptor reflecting their achievement. These results are included on the Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA).
Our school is committed to supporting students through each CBA, ensuring clear guidance, structured preparation and a positive learning experience.

In our school we follow a schedule, so that students are not overwhelmed with too much work on CBAs simultaneously. A sample schedule can be downloaded below by clicking on the image.
Further information can be found on StudyClix. They have an extensive range of study guides on each Junior Cycle CBA
