Final Score:

ERSS 7 - 0 Nagle’s CC Cork

Dungarvan FC Grounds, Monday 27th April 2026

ERSS produced a dominant and composed performance to claim the Collins Cup Munster title with a convincing 7–0 victory over Nagle’s CC Cork.

From the outset, we settled well, controlling midfield with excellent passing despite warm conditions. The breakthrough came early on 4 minutes when Bryan Lacey collected the ball near midfield, drove forward with intent, and struck a superb effort from outside the box into the bottom left corner to make it 1–0.

Nagle’s CC responded with a series of attacks, particularly down their left, but ERSS’s defensive line stood firm. Szymon Jachim was influential in breaking up play and launching attacks, while Elliot Farrell, Jack Walsh and Cathal O'Meara dealt confidently with balls played over the top. Goalkeeper Samual Carmody was also alert when called upon.

We doubled our lead on 13 minutes with an outstanding team move. After a strong intervention in midfield by Ryan Walsh (captain), the ball was worked to Joaquin Garcia, who set up Szymon Jachim for a powerful low strike into the corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Sustained pressure led to a third goal on 18 minutes. Our early goals unsettled the Nagle's CC team, and a defensive error was seized upon by Dale Redmond, who showed composure to beat the keeper with a clever step-over and finish. Just three minutes later, Joaquin Garcia added a deserved goal after a flowing move involving Dale Redmond and Ryan Walsh, making it 4–0. Goals were coming mainly through our midfield working hard to get the ball back through Jack Norris, Bryan Lacey and Ryan Walsh - they dominated in this area throughout the game.

We continued to work hard towards the end of the first half, keeping play largely in the opposition half. A fifth goal arrived on 27 minutes when Bryan Lacey’s looping effort from far out on the right wing caught the goalkeeper off guard and dropped in behind him. We went in at half time winning 5-0.

In the second half, Nagle’s CC improved their build-up play and spent more time in the ERSS half, but the back line remained resolute, clearing consistently from danger. Joaquin Garcia struck again with a superb long-range effort that looped over the keeper for 6–0. Moments later, he completed his hat-trick with an excellent chipped finish after a precise ball over the top from Zach Norris, who worked hard all game getting the ball forward. All of our attackers showed great skill and composure, all scoring or assisting in the seven goals.

As the heat took its toll, the tempo slowed, and the game became more midfield-based. We utilised the full panel, with substitutes contributing strongly. Despite Nagle’s CC battling to the end, ERSS maintained defensive discipline and continued to create chances, closing out an emphatic 7–0 victory.

A great performance today was the perfect ending to a fantastic Collin's Cup campaign. We now look forward to the All-Ireland Semi-Final on May 12th.
