This Bursary is aimed at supporting their transition into further education and

apprenticeships. The Bursary, which will now be awarded on an annual basis, is intended to

ease the financial burden for students pursuing careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or entering skilled apprenticeship programmes.

Mr. Eddie Gough, who has long supported education and youth development, visited the school to personally hand over the Bursary during a special assembly. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of backing young people as they take their next steps into the world of work and higher education.

The school has welcomed the initiative with great enthusiasm. The Bursary recognises student potential but also helps to make ambitious goals more achievable.

Principal Majella Gleeson expressed deep gratitude to Eddie Gough on behalf of the school community. The Bursary will be available to 6th year Students going forward for the next four years. Deputy Principal Linda Barry explained the application process to the Senior Cycle Students present at the assembly and further expressed the appreciation of the entire school community.

As a school community, we were delighted to welcome back the recipients and Year Head

Leona Mulcahy presented the following students with the Eddie Gough Bursary:

Killian Power, Bobby Coady, Cody Phelan, Evan Flynn, Cameron Littlewood, Cormac Hennessy, Calum Smith, Darragh Dunne and Miguel Cruz Barrientos.

Eddie Gough’s contribution stands as a lasting investment in the future of young people — a

clear reminder of the power of community in shaping opportunity.
