Its been a busy September for our Transition Year Students. Some highlights include: Nutrition Talk & Exercise Session with Richie Kennedy (Fitness Freak) The boys were put through their paces with games & activities in the glorious sunshine before learning about Richie's own story of becoming a professional footballer and the importance of good nutrition. Ploughing Championships at Ratheniska, Co. Laois The Ploughing Championships were a new experience for many of our TY cohort, in particular our international students from Spain and German who "had seen nothing like this before". The weather was in out favour as we set of on Tuesday morning 20th of September, returning that evening with a wide range of jerseys, footballs, hurleys & Aldi cowboy hats. RSA Talk with Fiona Kavanagh Thursday 22nd of September Fiona Kavanagh visited our school to discuss the importance of Road Safety. She brought a variety of educational tools to help get her message across; these included VR headsets and beer googles. The group engaged in tasks such and trying to walk in a straight line, write a text message and shake hands while feeling as though they were under the influence of alcohol.
