Our u17 soccer team had their first match in the Munster Junior Trophy vs Waterpark College. After a cagey start, the team settled well and put together some quality attacks. Waterpark had to resort to some last ditch defending resulting in a number of corners in quick concession.

(1-0) 15min: Our first goal came via a Josh Hegarty free kick, placed just inside the left post.

(2-0) 17min: From kickoff we maintained the pressure and won a corner, taken by Mateo Onate. After a clearance, Gearoid Power followed in from centre back position to hit a perfect volley. (both goals below).

6 minutes into the second half, our forward Ben Burns went down with an injury, forcing a change of formation and we brought on George Culleton.

(2-1) 53min: We were caught off guard immediately and allowed a break into the box resulting in their goal. The team didn't let their heads drop and regrouped very quickly and went on the attack again.

(3-1) 60min: A rebound in the box from a sustained attack, and a tap in for Luke Power.

(4-1) 63min: Our attack really grew into the game, David Comerford was played in by a lovely ball from Josh Hegarty, and finished with confidence.

(5-1) 66min: We finished off with a well deserved goal by Killian Power, who played well throughout.

89min: David Comerford was taken down in the box and a penalty was given, but we failed to put it away.
