Coorevin Farm Visit

5th Year Agricultural Science students from ERSS and Greenhill braved rain, wind, hail and snow on their journey to visit a beef and sheep farm in North Tipperary on Tuesday, February 11th 2020 with their teachers Ms.Kane and Ms.Forristal. 🐮🐑

This Leaving Certificate subject encourages students to obtain first hand experience on a working farm. Coorevin farm is based in Borrisokane, Co.Tipperary and is run by Padraig and his son Eoin. Padraig showed students around their farm yards and buildings, giving them lots of information along the way in relation to beef animals, sheep and grassland management.

Students will now return to class to complete a project, showcasing what they have learned from the farm visit. These kind of trips are invaluable to the learning in the classroom in Agricultural Science.

Thanks to Padraig Moran of Cooervin Farm for giving a brilliant tour of his farm and kindly providing us with tea and homemade scones. Also well done to all the students. Behaviour was fantastic, on what was a very long day and in extreme weather conditions and low temperatures.
