Transition Year students successfully completed the two‑week Youth Fire Service Programme, gaining valuable safety awareness and practical experience. They learned essential fire prevention skills, explored a variety of fire service career paths, and developed core fire marshal competencies, including risk assessment, evacuation management, and proper use of fire extinguishers. The programme concluded with a visit to the local fire station, where students engaged with real firefighting equipment and observed daily operations. Overall, the initiative strengthened students’ confidence, leadership skills, and interest in potential future careers within the fire service. Thanks again, to all the staff a Carrick-on-Suir Fire Station for the time and expertise.
