Eddie Gough Bursary Presentation 2025
In a heartwarming and generous gesture, past student Eddie Gough visited The Edmund Rice Secondary School on Friday October 17th to present a Bursary to sixth-year students- class of 2025. This Bursary is aimed at supporting their transition into further education and apprenticeships. The Bursary, which will now be awarded on an annual basis, is intended to ease the financial burden for students pursuing careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

Ormond Castle TY Tour
Our TY students had the privilege of exploring Ormond Castle, a remarkable historical treasure right here in Carrick-on-Suir. Originally built before 1315 and later acquired by the powerful Butler family, the castle has seen centuries of transformation. In the 1560s, Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormond, added a stunning Tudor-style manor house โ the first of its kind in Ireland โ inspired by his time at the court of Queen Elizabeth I.
